To celebrate our upcoming anniversary He Who Makes Me Smile and I went to a Sabres game last night. (Just like we did on our first date, Fat Bobs and a Sabres Game!)

But this time we had the BEST.SEATS.EVER.

We’ve sat in the 300s, the Club, the Box, the 100s but we haven’t tried FRONT ROW before…until last night.

I’m spoiled for life.

I know some people told me it is a good experience but they prefer to watch the game where they have a better view of the whole arena. I respectfully disagree. Our seats were right behind the goal where Sabres shoot twice (I mean are supposed to shoot twice it seems they only played 1st period on our side…) and they were incredible. Talk about being a part of the action! You can see the ice fly off the skates and melt, the puck WHIZZES by behind the net with the speed of light, the players are RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU! AND WHEN THEY SCORE THEY SCORE RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU!

Ahem. Our photo on Sabres.com.

See, right in front of us! WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Oh my goodness what a night I had text after text after text from friends saying “we see you on TV!” Which I knew would happen but until I saw this photo, I guess I didn’t realize exactly HOW MUCH you would see me on TV! Dayna told me that my niece Little A was cracking up over watching me flinch back when the players would hit the glass. (YOU WOULD TOO! THEY WERE RIGHT THERE!)

And every time my crush appeared close by, I would say “Hi, Drew!

Aside: MY CRUSH DREW NEEDS TO STEP UP HIS GAME IMMEDIATELY. HE BECAME MY CRUSH BECAUSE I SAW HIM SCORE A HAT TRICK ON MY FIRST DATE AND ANOTHER ONE ON NEW YEARS. WHERE ARE THE GOALS TODAY? Come on Drew, don’t make me regret loving that adorable, cocky grin of yours!

It was awesome watching the intensity of Miller that close. I wish I had a real camera to capture the moment…

While I took a photo of He Who Makes Me Smile close to the net…I chose to take a photo of…

My gorgeous sparkly ring instead! Look! Right by the glass! SHINY!

I have to thank HOCKEY a little bit for bringing us together, hence the ring.

Also this guy. For introducing hockey to me in the first place!

He Who Makes Me Smile printed out a large photo and brought it with us to the game and sent him this picture. Hahaha! I love that my future husband and my BFF have a wonderful bromance together.

Here’s to many more Sabres games together! Hopefully WINNING games. Sigh…
