Election Results with the Smiths

1. I’m in the Smith household where my 3.5 year old precocious niece tells me  “we vote for Obama.”

As soon as the PROJECTION music came on Toddler A and I ran to the super giant large screen HDTV and she saw that McCain was winning. I tried to explain the gray states on the map and how many many states still have to vote, but A had nothing to do with it. She crossed her arms and pouted. I showed her the electoral count and asked her which number was larger 8 or 3. Which one is more? Of course she is well aware of which one is more, but only pointed to 3. And then started to get very sad because she wants OBAMA to win and 8 means McCain is winning.

Oh brother, (I mean Lil Brother) you have your hands full with this little girl. I love her so.

2. I just heard Wolf Blitzer say “problem” and “Florida” in the same sentence. Never mind. Fixed.

3. CNN always covering the important breaking news.

Campbell Brown: “Tell me why we haven’t called Pennsylvania yet?”

John King :”Because we don’t have any votes.”

4. “I think it hurt Elizabeth Dole in the end.” My brother and Dayna both turn to each other and grin “in the end…” Oh my. More beer please.

5. Toddler A is working on her USA map puzzle. God, I need to have kids.

6. Patience. I must learn to have patience.
