The other day I was browsing one of my favorite websites, mine! Bwhahahahaha. No really. I stumbled upon this old blog post about Bedroom Feng Shui from a few years ago. This came at the perfect time because our current bedroom happens to also be full of clutter and I need to seriously go through and rearrange things, mostly get rid of the two bookshelves and move them upstairs to the middle room (The Jenny Room? The Studio/Office? Upstairs Family Space?) which I have so far avoided because hello, who wants to move boxes and boxes of books anywhere let along up a huge flight of stairs!

While reading through that post I remember seeing that clearing the clutter under the bed creates a positive energy in the room, ripe for fertile occasions. Ahem. So I looked a little more and came across this article: Feng Shui for Fertility. I liked this idea so I’ve been on the look out for the perfect little dragon for HWMMS.

“Place a dragon on the man’s side of the bed to increase passion and potency.”

Yesterday, my mom and I were wandering around Homegoods and I told her this story and said “be on the lookout for a little dragon.” In my head I was picturing a small, red ceramic figurine, but then I hear my mom call from the children’s aisle….

“How about this? It’s a little dragon. AND a baby book!”

I pretty much could not stop laughing. Not sure if the Feng is all Shui with a baby board book of a dragon, but I had NO choice but to get it. Also, not sure why I kept saying LITTLE dragon, but the title in the book even says LITTLE dragon. Perfection!

Later that night when HWMMS asked what I bought, I shared the above story.

He laughed, opened the book and saw, well, this page about a snake. While this might not be what the Feng Shui people had in mind, it is OBVIOUSLY the PERFECT choice for us. And so this little board book will find a place on his nightstand…hey, it can’t hurt, right?
