Do Civil Rights Laws Apply To Parochial Schools?

A teacher at a Lutheran church school in Michigan was fired after invoking her rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act. On Wednesday, her case goes before the Supreme Court. At issue is whether such teachers are “ministers” and should be considered exempt from the nation’s civil rights laws.

This morning on the way into work I heard this report on NPR and all I could think was…the church in this case (ok, the religious school) you know the ones that teach “do unto others” is actually the bully and the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT is the more benevolent party?

Wow.

Whatcha talkin' bout Willis?
