Time to make the homemade almond milk! Cross one thing off my 2015 Homesteading Cooking Goal List!
I started with an overnight soak.
I took the almonds and rinsed them and for every one cup of almonds, added four cups of water and then blended away. Strained the milk through a colander and then squeezed out as much as I could from the pulp. Holy cow it tastes amazing. And there’s a lot too, those are one gallon Ball jars!
And look at all the almond pulp left over for baking and cooking.
Have you made homemade almond milk before? What do you do with the leftover pulp?
