Hunger Games Trilogy

Books / Monday, April 16th, 2012

When Hunger Games hit the theater I was surprised that HWMMS wanted to go see it, opening weekend. I of course still planned on reading the series so if the movie was in the near future I needed to get on that train, ASAP.

I devoured the first book, on the Kindle app on my smartphone no less…and LOVED IT. Went to the movie and LOVED IT. Read ahead on the internet to get the rest of the story and then set the other two books aside, until last night.

For some reason last night we headed to bed VERY early. 9:15ish? I pretended to maybe want to sleep for about .27 seconds before grabbing the phone and opening up the 2nd book. Several hours later—woooooosh! I was shocked to find I enjoyed it just as much as the first. All the hype and I was right there with everyone. But as we who have read the series knows, you pretty much HAVE to have the last book in your possession as soon as you finish because you will WANT MORE. And want more I did. So I started the last book, sometime in the wee morning…and then found myself skimming and not as enchanted and several hours later I finished (just before the alarm wanted to wake me…) A whole lotta reading. A tired, but book-reading satisfied Jenny.

As I went to Goodreads to update my feed, I stumbled across my friend Matt’s assessment of the last book and found out he pretty much thought I what I thought, word for word. So it wasn’t just me and being up late and wanting to skim and get to the end. The last book was not nearly as satisfying as the first two…

For those of you who have read…what did you think?

Whatcha talkin' bout Willis?
