Whod’a thought living life offline would be so much fun?

Yes, I know I have a lot of blogging to do surrounding recent events. (Tee hee!) However, it is very important for me to actually USE THE TELEPHONE and talk to a bunch of dear friends and give them the scoop first.

Yes, I’m actually using the phone.

I pretty much talked on the phone all last night, certainly more in one night than in the past several years combined. I really am not a phone person. In between calls I’d come in the living room and check on He Who Makes Me Smile who was such a trooper who kept telling me it was my day and I needed to call all my friends…of course he was in the midst of a Jenny-free all-new Mythbusters marathon (or so I think that was what he said…) so all was well.

But still, I didn’t spend nearly enough time with him last night. Boo.

Except for DINNER.

He Who Makes Me Smile leaves work at 4pm and only has a 20 minute drive home. I leave work at 5 (ish) and have a 45 minute drive home from work. Which makes for a late dinner if I’m cooking.

Last night when I walked in the door? There was a GIANT pot of his mama’s homemade chili and cornbread waiting for me! FOR ME! I was going to make this dinner for us and it was already made! Do I have a keeper or what?

And ohmygoodness the chili was tasty. Best tasting chili I’ve ever had. And I’m not just saying that under the influence of a very sparkly object on my left hand.

After dinner we popped open the bubbly…

As mi pequeño Stephanie once told me, there is no substitute. I splurged. And it was worth every, single last dollar. Mmmmm.

And then phone calls…

Tonight? I have a dinner date with former co-worker friends, followed by a theater date with current co-worker friends to see our friend Patrick in 42nd Street. Which means one busy night of frolicking fun, but no time for the phone or the blog…

All in good time…I’m trying to savor the surreal feeling.

Thank you ALL for your many good wishes!
