Look Ma! Matching Porch Lights!

This post won’t mean anything unless you have visited our new house. One of the highlights of the tour has been the mismatched front porch lights along with a nice discussion of my utter confusion why the previous owners who had their house on the market didn’t even have matching front lights on the gorgeous porch. STAGING PEOPLE! STAGING!

Even crazier we found the matching light downstairs in the basement and of course assumed it was broken…otherwise why on earth would you put up a smaller brass light and not the one that is in the basement?

I have a bit of OCD when it comes to things being symmetrical so the lights really drove me crazy…buying a new set was high on my list until I saw HOW MUCH GIANT PORCH LIGHTS WERE! Eegads! $500 a piece? No thank you! Instead I got good at taking photos of the porch without getting both of the light fixtures in the photo. There are none so you’ll just have to take my word about how odd it looked.

ANYWHO…the other day HWMMS was cleaning up the walkout basement area and decided to try the light fixture for some reason. Turns out that matching light WORKS but there was some odd problem with hanging it or something. (I might have not understood the explanation…but it involved a few MacGyver moves and rigging and a drill maybe?)

Long story short. BEHOLD! MATCHING LIGHTS!

And Jenny was happy. I LOVE my handy Husband!
