Music is Art-edotes. The Kids Village had a stage. Where little kids could get up and rock out with the instruments they made out of plastic fruit from the Albright Knox table OR borrowed from the Music Center. All good…right?

So cute.

Except on Sunday? We turned the microphone on. ON. And the top two songs of the day (over and over and over and over) were: ABC-DEFG-HIJK-LMNO-P-QRS-TUV-WXY and Z song. AND Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. (Over and over and over and over again.) And over.

At one point, one of the children was told by his uncle to sing “You’re a Grand Old Flag” which turned out to be a huge crowd pleaser. You have no idea how happy the volunteers were to hear this song.

And later at the end of the night, when we were closing down, one of the little girls sang “Since You’ve Been Gone” Every single word. Priceless really. I imagined me running around singing “Like a Virgin” horrified for my mother.

The other story involves ICE CREAM. See it was quite chilly last weekend. (I sitll managed to get a sunburn though!) And we had a lovely donation of Nestle Ice Cream bars to sell. Needless to say, sales were slow. At the end of Sunday we were overwhelmed with ice cream! So a bunch of the volunteers started handing out bars in the beer tent. I was met with either “Are you kidding, it’s freezing!” or “Ice Cream! Coooool!”
