Simple word right?

One of the first words we learn as a child. NO!

I need to learn how to say no. IN THE FIRST PLACE.

“I’m sorry. I can’t do this right now.”

I want to do All Things. But I have to learn to be realistic.

I was asked to be a part of a fundraiser where you have to tap your contacts to get set free from jail for charity. While this 1. is a good cause and 2. sounds like lots of fun the fact of the matter is I’m already tapping my contacts (and their six degrees of Kevin Bacon contacts) professionally to keep a roof over my little career head. I can’t POSSIBLY ask people to give to another fundraiser at the SAME TIME. I can’t.

Not to mention, no offense, but if I am going to ask for support, it will be a cause close to my heart.

I hardly have time to think about anything besides work as it is with the new position (which is GOOD I LOVE MY JOB but…I mean, C’mon.) Work can’t be everything.

So, I’m sorry…but right now?

No.
