Yesterday, HWMMS and I celebrated our One Year Anniversary!

What did we choose to do together? Well…we chose to head out to Porter on the Lake (where we had the wedding) to have a picnic.

Of course, I didn’t plan a fancy picnic…so when we got up late in the afternoon and went out on Memorial Day we decided to stop somewhere to get food. Only problem? Every place we wanted to get subs/sandwiches happened to be closed.

Hahahaha!

So we ended up at the Ransomville Gas Station. With delicious chicken salad sandwiches on moist white bread.

The one year anniversary tradition is PAPER so we started an anniversary journal that we will write in every year. And then we headed down to the lake for a few photos. Henri joined us, of course.

MAN the water was smelly. I hope it wasn’t that bad last year (I wouldn’t know since we didn’t make it to the water during Weber Wedding Weekend…)

And then later that night I made Cherry Chip Cupcakes. (Since I threw away the last dozen we had frozen when moving…bad Jen, breaking an old tradition, but I figure I’d start a new one by making a fresh box every year. )

One last tradition? In lieu of gifts…we decided that every year on our anniversary we would make a donation to a charitable organization…this year we are choosing the Pet Emergency Fund. The best present of all is when we can give back to others…

Simple, blissful and perfect.
