Dear Dressmakers…particularly, Alfred Angelo,

I have a fantastic marketing idea for you! A great way to make money. And make women all across the world much, much happier people.

Why don’t you try making bridesmaids and wedding dresses

1. In sizes that your clients already wear…OR EVEN BETTER?

2. ONE to TWO SIZES SMALLER THAN USUAL.

What on EARTH are you thinking when a dress runs *one to two* sizes BIGGER than usual? Women would like to shave a size off of their already well known number. Making us feel larger is ALWAYS, I repeat ALWAYS a bad idea. I promise, I speak for all women right now.

So here’s my idea. Make the sizes run SMALLER. If a woman ins a size 12? Her wedding dress should be a size 10! Let me try that again, so if a bridesmaid wears a size 8? Make it is size 6 instead of a 12. The larger women would appreciate it even more. If I am a size 14/16 on the bottom, the DD”s make my dress/suit size at least 2 times bigger already. The add 2 more to THAT? Who wants that number floating around?

I think  bridesmaids are already not going to find themselves wearing your dresses again. So if we spend $200 on a cornflower colored dress that looks smashingly gorgeous at the wedding…in a size that is SMALLER (or the very least the SAME) size we already are…perhaps we might feel extra good about ourselves and splurge to get that matching purse, or wrap, or…or…or…

A happy, thinner, woman with money in a dress shop could be a dangerous combination.

Money for you. Contentment for us. Everyone  happy.

And if you’re the only dressmaker that follows suit? EVEN BETTER! Just think of how word of mouth works, women talk…to your benefit. All I ask is that you heed my advice. It might be too late for the wedding in July, but not for September, right?
