I Can’t Believe It’s Hardly A Pirate Festival! He Who Makes Me Smile like pirates. And he had never been to the Olcott Pirate Festival before, so we headed out on Saturday to see what we could see. Um.

Wait? I saw signs for a Pirate Festival?

What are all these Classic Cars doing here instead?

Might as well take a look. (I only took pictures of the green cars. I like green.)

I have no idea why this car had Kermit the Frog but it made for a nice photo opportunity! High five!

Next stop. Petting Zoo area? (Not quite sure honestly…)

And. Time for a CARNIVAL? A kiddie carnival. Where are the pirates?

Arrrr. I see! A pirate band? Ok, a cover band playing rock songs dressed as Halloween pirates with a pirate flag backdrop. However, this does not quite equal pirate festival.

Oh look! Junky stuff you can buy to make yourself feel like a pirate! Also, used DVD’s.

Step right up and win yourself a giant, er…Bluth Banana or Pirate Elmo or Superman!

Last Arrested Development reference of the day, I swear…

What Pirate Festival Classic Car Kiddie Carnival is complete without a rousing game of I GOT IT!

AHOY! Last but not least a PIRATE COMEDY SKETCH SIGHTING! Which was from our point of view the only pirate sighting really of the festival and well, lacking…hence me taking photos of Arrested Development references instead.

Despite the lack of Pirates at the Pirate Festival, we managed to have a little bit of a good time. I highly do NOT recommend this event unless you have little kids who might like a small carnival atmosphere (harsh? but true.)

The Celtic Festival  better kick some serious butt in September.
