Charity Vogel from the Buffalo News wrote an article in today’s newspaper:

Popping the question-What was once a simple proposal has evolved into a complicated and stressful way to ask: ‘Will you marry me?’

And mentioned my silly little blog project…

So you want to get married, eh?

My friends Erin and Jen R. were quoted in the article too!

“Very superficial’

Smith, the blogger, felt that the trend was so ridiculous she started writing about the current rash of engagement and marriage advice books on her blog, “All Things Jennifer.” (See it at www.allthingsjennifer.wnymedia.net. Her book selections included “Get Serious About Getting Married” (which boasts a close-up of a diamond ring on the cover) and “It’s Not You, It’s Him.”

“It’s all very superficial,” Smith said. “They’re not really saying, Be true to what you think and believe.”

Mark, baby? When you read this…remember, as you know, I am more concerned about carrots in our future veggie garden than carats on my finger.

Speaking of children? This weekend I was actually carded for a Strawberry Daiquiri and a Strawberry Bellini. CARDED! I AM 32 going on 33! At the same time? Dayna’s step mom at the wedding, told me she thought that I was younger than my little brother and wondered when I would be having kids now that I found Mark. My answer was…um, in a few years maybe? Which is when I might have told her that many women in their 30’s are having children and there’s even a pregnancy magazine for women 35 years and older on the market!

I look too young to buy a daiquiri but I am too old to wait a few years to have children. Ah to be me…I wonder if there is a book out there on that?
