Ah. True words from a true friend, thanks Kristen!

“So that explains the relative silence on your blog. I always say a little prayer when you don’t post, figuring there’s a storm a blowin’.”

Yep, exactly right. Relative silence usually means a storm is a blowin’ indeed. When it’s backtobacktoback work related, you know…it’s work related. Part of the job, right? Sometimes things just fall flat from under you and you do the best you can to pick it all up. All the stress is mine alone (and my co-workers) so that the outside world never has to know one thing went wrong. It’s part of my job description to be this way, I know that.

But man oh man oh man oh MAN why this week? I was an emotional pile of PMS goo and needed a few days off. Instead? I was thrown into the center of a hurricane…the exact opposite of what I needed. (What I wanted.)

Today? Everyone left the office at 3 early for the holiday. I left at 4. Not too shabby.

TGIF, right? (/whining)

So now Mark and I are going to take a 1/4 of a day together alone (instead of the 2 whole days I had planned) and go play. Tomorrow? I clean the house and go into work for a few hours before Mark’s parents come into town to visit. We are taking them to see the Glenn Miller Orchestra (sold out!) And don’t laugh, perhaps I’m an old soul at heart but I LOVE BIG BAND MUSICĀ  And then Mark gets up early on Sunday to run his relay leg of the Buffalo Marathon. And then we do brunch at Ambrosia as a family and then we go play somewhere in WNY that has yet to be determined because this is the first instance since Wed morning I have had to think about anything besides work…

I’ll likely catch up on some blogging sometime in there but for now.

All I need is a long hug. So desperate for the long hug I am totally psyched to spend the night with my sweetie at the Drive In seeing Indiana Jones and Iron Man. Neither movie I particularly care to see, well maybe Iron Man a bit after Mark said it was the best action movie ever, but…it is several hours of a hug for me (along with snacks and drinks) and Mark. And that is all I need right now. And the chance to sing “Sandy” in true John Travolta fashion, cue the lyrics “stranded at the Drive in…branded, a fool…” (Da, I MISS YOU!)

(Aside: The Hulk will be a different story I LUST Edward Norton!)

Happy weekend everyone.
