A repost of my article in this week’s Springville Times. Summer Bucket List: Classic Car Shows

By Jennifer Weber

As the wifey of a proud owner of a 1972 Dodge Challenger, I’ve become accustomed to the ogling of the pretty, pretty car, who I lovingly refer to as “The Mistress” and the endless conversation and intrigue that surrounds her whenever taking a ride to town to grab dinner or entering her in a cruise night or car show.

In these few short years of my Classic Car education, I’ve also quickly learned there are approximately a hundred different cruise nights and car shows one could attend throughout Western New York on any given week. Give or take.

So in an effort to streamline your Summer Bucket List in attending a Classic Car Show, here’s a quick round up of a few upcoming events being held in Western New York (including a newbie this weekend right here in Springville!)

The 12th Annual Springville Chamber of Commerce Oktoberfest held on Saturday, Sept. 29 hosts a German Car Show from 3-6 p.m. at Springville Fireman’s Park, 71 Nason Boulevard, Springville.

Ongoing:

Emerling Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Cruise Nights are held the 3rd Thursday of the month during the summer; the next event is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 17 from 5-8 p.m. at 195 W Main St, Springville.

The Allegany State Park Classic Car Cruise In takes place on the second Wednesday of each month through Sept. 13. Vehicles will be displayed at the Red House Bathhouse parking area from 5-8 p.m . Registration is not required and all vehicles are welcome at this free event.

What’s your favorite Classic Car Show in WNY? What cruise night should we stop by in the area? And if you see me and the Mistress around town, honk and wave. She likes the attention. (And so does my husband.)
