This afternoon I received a surprise email from my landlord telling me he decided not to renew the lease.

The news caught me. I found myself in a WHAT AM I GOING TO DO mood for most of the afternoon. Almost cried for a brief moment…

I assumed this was coming for months, his wife doesn’t like me. However, I figured once I paid the rent in April I was safe since he would have to give me two months if he chose not to renew my lease to month-month which was up in May. But nope, he emailed me this afternoon and asked if I could be out by June 1st. When I emailed him back he said he was flexible of course…but.

And he hopes there aren’t any hard feelings and he will give me a reference of course.

SURPRISE!

Hot water tank needed to be replaced while I was living here. And who can forget the water pipe bursting fiasco when they were out of town and chose not to call anyone for over a day and found their apartment flooded and had to remove a wall and cabinets etc.

No, not my fault…but I KNOW she blamed me.

She dislikes my  cat as well. Since my landlady is a smoker she is outside on the porch pretty much every hour. If Sasha Kitten is outside and sees the door open, he will come running to the porch and come inside. No, he is not a MEOWER outside the door. He just waits. Simba Cat is a meower and I HAVE NOT LET HIM OUTSIDE since moving here for that reason. But if I am not home  or sleeping or something, Sasha will cry at the inside of my door if he sneaks in when she is smoking. This has happened a few times. Pretty sure she is not a pet person in general.

Sasha Kitten also peed on the Welcome Mat outside their door a few months ago. And according to his email, he thinks the cat peed somewhere else on one of the carpets in the hall this week.

Also, I have been dating since living here…and with a smoker for a landlady the chances of her seeing people come in and out to pick me up or visit etc…well…she and her husband have seen different men visit me.

Last week she rang the doorbell to ask me to turn down the music. Which couldn’t have been THAT loud since I only have computer speakers. But that’s fine. NORMAL LIVING THINGS RIGHT?

Also, the house is in the process of being painted right now and I recall my landlord when speaking of his future bride telling me she wasn’t very fond of the neighborhood…WHICH is why he spent a lot of time at her place until the wedding this Fall.

All of these things don’t matter because they totally have the right to rent to who they want, and I’m not bitter. Like I said, I expected it.

HOWEVER I did not expect an email at work today. And I surely did NOT expect to move when I don’t have a car.

I was ready to list the van on Craigslist for parts today. I have been hemming and hawing over it because, well, what if I HAVE to move. What if I CANT find a place where I can walk. Is it better to put $600 more into the van to put it on the road? Or just not have a car at all?

I made it this month past the  deadline with the apartment lease when I was absolutely CERTAIN the wife wouldn’t want me living here and have been worried about it for months. So?

So I started framing and hanging more pictures. And bought cute rugs. And figured I might even get cable/internet since I can’t get a good signal on the laptop in most of the house.

I don’t need a vehicle living a block from the music hall and a 15 minute walk to the office. I have access to a washer and dryer downstairs. I’m fine.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! I’M NOT FINE! I DON’T HAVE A CAR. I DON’T HAVE THE MONEY TO PUT THAT CAR BACK ON THE ROAD. WHAT IF I CANT FIND A PLACE IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD. WHAT IF I DON’T HAVE ACCESS TO LAUNDRY? HOW DO I FIND A PLACE FOR TWO CATS IF MY LANDLORD SAID THE CAT PEED IN THE HALLWAY. DEPOSIT? FIRSTMONTHLASTMONTHCATSECURITY $$$ I DONT HAVE! AND I HAVE TO RENT A TRUCK TO MOVE AND I DONT WANT TO ASK PEOPLE TO HELP ME AGAIN AND AND AND MY CREDIT SUCKS SO WHAT IF THEY WANT TO SEE A CREDIT REPORT.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!
