There’s no *I*

One day I spelled Odysseus wrong on my blog (happens all the time actually, but I usually catch it before hitting publish.)

So MARK told me an EASY way to remember how to spell Odysseus (I always want to put an I in the spelling.) TOTALLY HARMLESS AND CLUELESS HE BEGINS TO TELL ME THE TALE.

“Just remember that in the story, Odysseus stabs the cy-c-l-o (no need to finish the world with the ps a the end because at this point…)”

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUGGGGGHHHHH!”

I’m screaming and covering my eyes.

“ARE YOU TELLING ME THAT ODYSSEUS STABS THE ONE EYED CYCLOPS AND YOU NEVER TOLD ME!!!!”

Still covering my eyes and breathing heavy…

“HOW ON EARTH AM I SUPPOSED TO NAME OUR FUTURE SON THIS NOW WHEN YOU KNOW I HAVE AN EYEBALL PHOBIA! OH MY GOD! HOW CAN I EVER READ THE ODYSSEY NOW KNOWING THIS INFORMATION!”

My sister-in-law thinks this might be the EXACT thing I need to get over my eyeball phobia. I’m not so sure. Although this conversation did happen a few months ago and I still pretend to use the name, of course I still haven’t read “The Odyssey” either. Oy!
