Three Accomplishments in 2017? Welp.

Maybe it’s because this is my current mood:

Maybe it’s because 2017 has been one GIANT DUMPSTER TIRE FIRE.

But I couldn’t easily come up with three accomplishments in 2017.

I thought about it, for a minute or so. And then I came up with this.

1. Got paid, regularly for freelance writing. Yes, yes that made me happy.

And then I wanted to cry because I couldn’t think of anything else. FOR REAL.

So, of course I ask HWMMS and he comes up with two ideas, which while good and thoughtful ACTUALLY happened in 2016. Sigh.

Is 2017 over yet?

After a little bit more marinating over this topic I came up with…

2. Words on the page. I set a goal to complete a Daily Theme Blogging Challenge in March, 50K words for Camp NaNoWriMo in April and 50K words for NaNoWriMo in November. And I accomplished all three. So that’s something.

3.

(crickets)

Maybe I started to sort of kind of deal with the fact that I have diabetes? Even if BARELY acknowledging? Sigh. This hardly feels like an accomplishment. More like a giant impeding life disappointment. Depression and my Mental Health is my bitch. Diabetes, that’s a whole different beast I’m still wrapping my brain around.

Yeah. Not an accomplishment. Dammit.

3. Starting to take note of the synchronicities. I really did try to stay true to my Three Words in 2017—Me, Myself & I. Hey, it’s a start.

Now maybe I should try THREE GOALS FOR 2018. Or not right now.

Your turn. Three accomplishments—GO.
