Weight Loss the Hard Way

I do NOT RECOMMEND getting the Swine Flu and having a fever for a week and then finding out that the flu has turned into pneumonia and the antibiotic you are supposed to take makes you nauseous and the drippy phlegm that runs down your throat into a big hunk in your chest takes away your will to live not to mention appetite.

Ick. Simply not pleasant one little bit.

I had to force myself to eat this morning. And again this evening because NOTHING TASTES RIGHT. And one cannot get energy from Ginger Ale and orange juice alone, dammit. Although as all sick people know ginger ale does make you feel better. It’s magical, if you can keep it down. But those pills too, when adding those pills to the mix, just yuck. I need something more.

THAT SAID. I’m down about 10 pounds (no joke.) AND FINALLY FEELING A LITTLE BIT BETTER. I even did a few hours of work on the computer today without too much of a problem. But then I of course passed out for about five hours sleeping afterwards. Give a little, sleep a little more. . I can think of a lot of different ways to lose 10 pounds that would be much healthier of course, but hey, at this point I got to find something positive to complain about.

I go back to the doctor Friday morning which means I should be back at work on Monday.

What a fun two weeks this has been, really. No seriously, this has been the sickest I’ve been, perhaps ever. This swine flu is no joke. The fact that it turned into more is just plain old dumb Jen luck of course. Fingers and toes crossed that this is all over sooner than later.
