(Because after spending the afternoon re-potting and feeding 35+ indoor plants, while listening to “The Stand” on audiobook – I pulled my daily tarot card and it was THE TOWER and I thought – oh hell no…so here I am. )
EVERYTHING MATTERS!

- Drink Water. I mean stop reading right now, and go fill up a vessel of water and drink.
- Make a plan to get updated on vaccines. ASAP. Cause you know, bans – shortages.
- Buy N95 masks. Cause you know, COVID, Bird Flu, RFK Jr…
- Breathe. Take a step back – and take three lung filling-clearing breaths in and out.
- Say Thank You (out loud) for one good thing in life.
- Print out important information – phone numbers, addresses anything online that might not be online someday.
- Listen to your favorite pick me up song. Sing! Dance!
- Read a Banned Book
- Buy a Banned Book
- Fill Little Free Libraries up with Banned Books
- Visit your local library – check out a Banned Book? (I’m on a theme.)
- Bake a treat, make a meal and share with a neighbor.
- Take an extra long, hot shower…(and let the tears flow if they come…)
- Check in on a friend. NONE OF US ARE OK. We keep taking turns lifting each other.
- Find a place in your neighborhood to volunteer your time. If you don’t have time – donate money.
- Grab an extra two, three, five things on the shopping list this week – stock up if you can.
- SHOUT INTO THE VOID AT THE TOP OF YOUR LUNGS (this releases a bit of pent up “everything” just make sure to warn others around you before you do…
- Seek out a new skill – sewing, cooking, learning another language, gardening?
- PLAY. Find time to play. Build a puzzle, pick up a board game, coloring book, PLAY-DOH.
- Sign up for All Things Jennifer blog updates!
- Call. Email. Visit. Your Representatives. If that makes you uncomfortable – try one of these ideas!
- Light a candle. Make a wish/intention/prayer.
- Give a random compliment to a stranger.
- Buy a bidet – just in case, you know, shit happens.
- GET DIRTY – (mind out of the gutter, I’m thinking plants. Seeds.)
- Make an emergency plan with loved ones. If/When Power/Communications go down —-
- Drink more water. (It’s been a hot minute, hydration is essential.)

Pay attention to the national but act locally. Your workplace. Your community. Your neighborhood. Don’t get lost in the overwhelming nature of it. It’s designed, literally designed, to make you feel powerless and alone.
