***THIS BOOK IS EVERYTHING. I instantly messaged several of my peeps and said – READ NOW. If I had unlimited funds I would have bought and sent out 100 copies…and I decided immediately I would be gifting it to a few very important people, very soon.
** I read Eating Wildly waaaay back in the day when attending a blogging conference and started following the author on the socials – so I was quite excited to dive into this book. First and foremost, the research had to be intense. I cannot imagine. It’s not just a story- it is HER FAMILY and their stories both tragic and beautiful. Sharing this history with others – has to be freeing and bittersweet and difficult and empowering. My ignorance of the treatment of our citizens embarrasses me. I found myself livid time and time again. And I feel like I’m pretty educated – this is why telling these stories is so, so, so important.
*A total surprise. Time travel, romance, history – LOVE.
