Books Read – February 2025
I had a slow month of books read for February – but that MIGHT JUST BE because the first book I finished was The Stand by Stephen King. Epic. I was quickly involved and then towards the end – well, a bit just move on already. I can’t believe I’d never read it before! I considered listening to this book my break from reality. Yes, these are the times we are in where THE STAND IS A WELCOME BREAK FROM REALITY.
On Tyranny is a MUST read by Timothy Snyder – On Freedom was a good follow up, but if you haven’t read On Tyranny – do.it.now.
The Color Purple I chose as a banned book selection – again, one I had not read before. WHAT???? Or more likely this book chose me.
Finally – my friend from HS Krissyfur recommended The Small and the Mighty: Twelve Unsung Americans Who Changed the Course of History by Sharon McMahon YES. THIS ALL DAY. I enjoyed the stories and the author’s voice and the content SO DARN MUCH. I need to get my hands on this one physically for my library.
Aside – I’ve moved away from Goodreads and uploaded all my books read history into Storygraph. Anyone else over there?
