Books Read – March & April 2025 – I saved this post until the end of April because I thought – ugh, I only read two books in March? And then it was even worse – only one book in April.  I know I’ve been off my game – routine – but yikes. Anyhow, I will post and share and then move on…

First book –

Careless People: A Cautionary Tale of Power, Greed, and Lost Idealism

Facebook sure did change the world.
Understatement of the century.

Well worth the read but warning – it will piss you off. I already loathe the meta universe, this just confirmed all of the loathing. And as far as the author as a whistle-blower, nyah. The more words of hers I read the more I started to loathe her as well…complicit is what complicit does. I was not impressed nor feel sorry for her one bit – she make all her choices. Which truly, I will not understand – she could have left…

Second book –

Year of Living Constitutionally

“America’s birth was not an immaculate conception…”

  • The Constitution (ME!) AND Reenacting – (HWMMS) How did I not see this book last year?
  • I’m not the only one who learned the Preamble and can still recite, am I?
  • I’m absolutely adopting using in place of the daily glimmer. I love that damn word and do not use it nearly enough (when not wearing stays…)

I lovedlovedlovedloved this book and found myself wanting to share every other passage with HWMMS (and/or Moon Wife, poor Moon Wife…I think she said something like “I love that you are loving it so much.” Um, hint – hint.)

The Genius of Judy: How Judy Blume Rewrote Childhood for All of Us

Meh – this was a disappointment honestly, it was way more of a Wikipedia recap of her books instead of well, I dunno, I expected more of her story not a review of all her stories as the story. But perhaps I read the title wrong.

In other book news – I’ve started but not finished –

Hoping for at least a book a week in May.
