Below the fold for the NY Times. But hey, at least it was mentioned?
I am old enough to remember when reputable mainstream media sources would – oh, I don’t know REPORT ON THE ACTUAL FUCKING NEWS?
I actually look fondly back at my youth – spending Sunday morning surrounded by the newspapers – Sunday Talk Shows perhaps on the teevee in the background. Most of the time in a coffeeshop or restaurant over a lingering brunch.
Today, I don’t even share articles from these sources I used to subscribe to and devour daily. What a world. What a crock of shit too – how on earth can the Washington Post still use the tagline Democracy Dies in Darkness? When they are the ones turning off the lights upon bended knee?
- “Freedom of the press is a precious privilege that no country can forego.” – Unknown.
- “Freedom of the press is not just important to democracy, it is democracy.” -Walter Cronkite
- “The liberty of the press is essential to the security of freedom.” – John Adams
- “The press is the best instrument for enlightening the mind of man and improving him as a rational, moral, and social being.” – Thomas Jefferson.
