Update April 16 –
Democracy Docket – Judge Finds Cause to Hold Trump Admin In Contempt Over Alien Enemies Act Removals– Wednesday, Boasberg stopped short of holding the Trump administration in contempt immediately, instead giving it a chance to rectify its behavior.
Truthout – Judge Says He May Find Trump Officials in Contempt of Court for Defying Orders – “The Constitution does not tolerate willful disobedience of judicial orders — especially by officials of a coordinate branch who have sworn an oath to uphold it. To permit such officials to freely ‘annul the judgments of the courts of the United States’ would not just ‘destroy the rights acquired under those judgments’; it would make ‘a solemn mockery’ of ‘the constitution itself.”

And here we are.
Trump Administration Live Updates: U.S. and El Salvador Won’t Return Man Who Was Mistakenly Deported
And what can be done?
(Crickets)
What Courts Can Do If the Trump Administration Defies Court Orders– While federal judges have clear authority to order sanctions, including fines and arrest, they ultimately rely on law enforcement and federal prosecutors to enforce penalties in the face of continued noncompliance. The U.S. Marshals Service, which is part of the Justice Department, is the primary enforcement arm of the federal courts. Courts often rely on marshals to serve summonses, subpoenas, and warrants, as well as make arrests, and by law, “it is the primary role and mission of the United States Marshals Service to . . . obey, execute, and enforce all orders of” the federal courts.
This is the scariest timeline. This is actually scarier than the scariest timeline because the case — is unequivocally horrific – the complicit SCOTUS ruled UNAMIOUSLY 9-0.
Despite SCOTUS Ruling, Trump Admin Refuses to Return Man It Wrongly Sent to Salvadoran Prison– The refusal comes despite the Supreme Court unanimously upholding a lower-court ruling ordering it to “facilitate” the man’s return to the U.S. It’s the latest and perhaps most troubling example of the Trump administration undermining the rule of law by appearing to flatly defy judicial orders.
HE IS PROMISING TO SEND AMERICANS TO FOREIGN DEATH CAMPS.
This is it. This is where America ends.

Seems like a good day to remind everyone that Auschwitz — a complex of over 40 concentration and extermination camps — was not located in Nazi Germany either.

TIME FOR THE Truth Brigade!
- Deportation decisions: Far-right anti-immigration networks are, reportedly, spreading lies about the federal judge who halted deportation flights to El Salvador and is also assigned to a case investigating the use of government Signal chats.
- Law-abiding migrants: New reporting shows that 90% of the 200+ migrants deported by the US government to a prison in El Salvador have committed no crimes in the US – ever. Far-right disinformers reportedly continue to frame these people as dangerous.
Other links – because if I try to use my own words I will start crying, again. Apparently this has become my breaking point. At least until the next one.
- El Salvador president says deported Maryland man with alleged MS-13 ties can’t be brought back to US despite Supreme Court ruling: ‘Question is preposterous’ – Secretary of State Marco Rubio argued Monday that “the foreign policy of the United States is conducted by the president of the United States, not by a court.”
- When The Government Ignores The Courts – And what’s really shocking is that they’re doing this in a situation where they caused that person to be unlawfully deported and illegally imprisoned in a foreign country—and they are now, by all accounts, flouting the order of the district court and, just to be clear, the order of the Supreme Court of the United States.
- Trump: “Home-growns are next”– So the president of the United States proposes, on camera, to deport Americans to foreign concentration camps…Perhaps the worst part is the laughter of the Americans.
