Catnip. Dandie Roots. And sooooo much Oregano. Oh and a few flowering Citronella cuttings…and two tulips. Huzzah!
I did a bit of harvesting in the garden – MOSTLY “thinning out the perennial herbs so they aren’t massively crowded together and can grow and thrive” the picking of the herbs is an added bonus.
Tis a wee corner of the culinary herb garden – on the left the harvested Oregano plants – TWO BIG OL BUNCHES OF LOVAGE! And off to the right side, Garlic and Chives. I planted Radicchio and Cilantro seeds – and there’s another patch of Oregano and Parsley outside of the photo.
I also managed to get the medicinal herb garden weeded/thinned over the weekend. The Pennyroyal was running rampant! I probably picked about 50 wee plants?
They are all now in future hanging pots – I really want to have all the freaking biting bugs as far away as possible when on the porch.
Thinned out Chamomile and Motherwort, but ran out of potting soil!
This stinky abomination is a harvest of volunteer Comfrey plants I dug up to move over to the soit garden next to the fruit trees. The stinky part is the steeping in water – I’ll use to fertilize some plants in a few days. I will take every single volunteer comfrey plant available – with impending apocalypse on the horizon – all the natural organic fertilizer please!
Other medicinal herbs that survived – St. John Wort, Horehound, Elecampane, Marshmallow, Mugwort, Arnica, Yarrow — side garden along the garage has Chives, Black Cohosh and Holy Basil and side garden behind pool room has Lemon Balm and more Chamomile.
Side garden by driveway – which was the “peach garden” but is now the “tea garden” also has Chamomile and Lavender.
