- We’ve lived in Weber Wonderland now for 10 years and we are blessed to have a full house generator attached to our power supply. The funny thing is we never really knew if the generator worked other than the weekly check-in because our power never really went off.
That is until this year. There have been several wind storms knocking down power lines and effing up transformer boxes in our area. The power went out maybe once or twice a few years back but never for a very long time.
I’m sitting here tonight in the powerless sort of half dark thinking about how peculiar the weather has been this year. We’ve had power outages now at least four times this year that have lasted more than a quick flicker for a few minutes.
We live in the Southern Tier ski country hills and maybe plowed the driveway twice this year – despite all the record crazy snowfalls in Western New York. None of that snow has hit us here outside of Springville.
All wind no snow.
