Healthy living goal for the week?
BREATHING PROPERLY. I suppose the catch phrase is breathing consciously?
I took this breathing test over here.
Test was fine but results lead you to links to purchase this and that and this. Bah.
My results showed that pretty much in every category, I failed miserably. I notice I take too many not satisfying short breaths. I also notice I take rather abrupt breaks and then find myself not breathing from time to time.I did the sleep tests a few years ago and was diagnosed with hypopnea…but all I knew was this meant I didn’t need the machine. I did nothing with the information.
“Mild hypopnea can often be treated by losing weight or by avoiding sleeping on one’s back. Also quitting smoking, and avoiding alcohol.”
Which is why I decided to concentrate on BREATHING in general this week. I’m sick of shallow breathing! I WANT OXYGEN DARN IT!
Did you know the average respiratory rate for a healthy adult at rest is usually given as 12 breaths per minute? HOWEVER OPTIMAL BREATHING (yoga world) is 6 breaths per minute.
Yikes. I have some work to do!
