I grew up in a home that followed two sports at all times:
- Football
- Baseball
- If I thought it was an actual sport I would have to include WWF Wrestling, but I don’t think of it as a sport so I shall ignore this thought.
As in most things Jennifer I tend to be all or nothing so FOOTBALL was the sport I gave my heart to while I pretty much avoided and despise everything BASEBALL.
Notice HOCKEY was not mentioned. Where was HOCKEY in the Smith and Baker households? How did we as a HOCKEY region not follow HOCKEY as a family? Especially with 27 million games per season? Tis an unsolved mystery of my childhood. OBVIOUSLY over the past few years I have overcome this childhood deficit.
- The first jersey I’ve ever purchased wasn’t BUFFALO BILLS one but rather a BUFFALO SABRES one. And today I realized I spent more money on that one jersey than I have on any of my Gala Dresses over the years! I ALWAYS BUY ON SALE. Except apparently this time.
- I know almost all of the Sabres players names/numbers. Can’t say the same for the Buffalo Bills.
Truth be told, the BUFFALO BILLS will always be my first love. I’m MUCH more emotionally wrecked during BILLS games. And through the years my love of Peyton Manning and all things Fantasy Football helped me realize I could love football without wanting to gauge my eyes out every Sunday over the hometown team.
Um, yeah, this season? Not much in the line of Fantasy Football, except for the fact that the loser of our family league has to bring TWO gifts for the crazy exchange instead of one this year and the winner gets two presents. Since I LOVE buying presents for this event and I have a Gawd-Awful Fantasy Football team I decided to play Peyton Manning for the rest of the season. Hee hee.
