Ah, Valentine’s Day. Love is in the air. No matter if you subscribe to the “Love is All You Need” view on life of perhaps the cynical view that Valentine’s Day is just a made up “Hallmark Holiday” there’s no escaping the next two weeks of events to celebrate with the ones you love.
On Tuesday, Feb. 13 at 6:30 PM, Tifft Nature Preserve located at 1200 Fuhrmann Blvd, Buffalo is hosting a SciNight Series: Romance in the Wild. “The birds and bees know what they’re doing, but do you? Investigate how Buffalo’s wildlife ensure the survival of their species through some hilarious games, trivia, food and hands-on science fun!”
How about getting some Mardi Gras action in with your Valentine? Hotel Henry located at 444 Forest Avenue, Buffalo is hosting a Fat Valentine’s Party on Tuesday, Feb. 13 from 8 PM – 1 AM. Drinks, dancing, $5 hurricane specials and no cover charge, open to the public.
Try our a new interactive activity with the one you love with a Valentine Beginner Glass Blowing class at The Foundry located at 298 Northampton St, Buffalo on Wednesday, Feb. 14 from 6 PM – 9 PM. Each person will create a heart ornament, creative creature, small dish, or free-formed shape and learn the skill glass blowing.
For those who just want to have a beer, Rusty Nickel Brewing Co. located at 4350 Seneca Street, West Seneca is hosting a Valentine’s Day Beer Pairing on Wednesday, Feb. 14 at 6:30 PM – 10 PM. The event consists of a five-course beer pairing and attendees will receive a pint glass filled with Valentine’s Day surprises.
Now for something completely different, how about attending a unique and artsy twist on Valentine’s day with a one-night only screening of “The Passion of Joan of Arc” by Carl Theodor Dreyer at North Park Theatre located at 1428 Hertel Ave, Buffalo on Thursday, February 15 from 9:30 PM – 11:30 PM.
Fans of the movie Ghost might enjoy a Valentine’s Date Night: Give it a Spin Pottery Date on Friday, Feb. 16 from 7 PM – 9 PM at the Artyard Studio located at 5701 Main St, Williamsville.
Last but very not least, Chef Erin Horton from Edible Crush is preparing another pop-up dinner this time with a Valentine theme on Saturday, February 17 from 6 PM – 9 PM at 39 E Main St, Springville. The four-course menu includes an oyster starter, avocado & shrimp appetizer, surf & turf entree and a decadent but whimsical dessert in a candlelit & warm atmosphere.
