Dear God. After the last week, I have to say I’m feeling a WEE BIT Cautiously Optimistic that things are going to turn around.
I have no problem not going anywhere and being “overly concerned” about COVID-19. I was sick for over 10 weeks, despite being negative for antibodies. I’m high-risk. I haven’t been in isolation for 91 days to risk the chance now.
THAT SAID – I’m beyond thankful to every person out there marching…it looks to be peaceful today. Thank God.
I signed and sealed and dated my ballot for the June 23rd NY State Democratic Primary and NY27 Special Election. I was able to cast my vote for Elizabeth Warren and once again for Nate McMurray. It’s not too late to request YOUR ballot – go to elections.erie.gov you have until June 16th.
While HWMMS was busy mowing the lawn and building the raised garden beds with all the supplies he bought this week, I was potting porch plants. 8 pots of peppers. 2 pots of eggplant. 2 pots of citronella. All plants I bought. The pepper seeds I tried to start all failed (saved from peppers and some from last year.) I never have any luck growing eggplant by seed. In fact I don’t know if I’ve ever successfully grown an actual eggplant. I try every other year it seems. Some critter munched the tops off our pepper plants last year, so this year I’m keeping these plants on the porch.
I spent some quality ME time. Alone (with my Harley Boo) on the hammock this afternoon/early evening. Sat there watching the bumblebee fly from blossom to blossom, watched the hummingbird feed, looked at the fluffy white clouds, listened to the chirping birdies and the croaking bullfrogs. The older I get, the more I appreciate and cherish the stillness of nature.
Thank God for Weber Wonderland.
