Family Tradition. We just came back from a Christmas party with He Who Makes Me Smile’s cousins from his dad’s side of the family. First of all I have to say the farmhouse was the most amazing home I’ve ever seen. Absolutely gorgeous, spacious, beautifully decorated and inviting. I felt like I was in a Hallmark Christmas Movie/Junior League Showhouse.
And while I have only met some of the family a few times, I felt right at home. Love…
One of the traditions the family has traces back years and years and years…it was one of the more touching things I’ve been a part of and I can’t wait to share this with my family and friends and ones I love in the years to come. He Who Makes Me Smile wants to do this for our wedding.
Everyone who visits the home signs a tablecloth…and then during the year the signatures are embroidered with red thread.
Each year the family brings the tablecloth out at Christmas for the new family members and friends to sign…and to visit the signatures of years long ago.
He Who Makes Me Smile’s papa…(John) Jack Weber.
And his mama…before she became a Weber! Cynthia A. Brown.
I signed my name right next to mama…(before I too become a Weber.)
*Tears*
What an amazing way to remember and honor those who are with us in spirit.
