Meh. Time for Friendship Bread – Round Two.
For this round of the weekly Amish Friendship Bread Baking Experience – I added nuts and raisins. GOLDEN RAISINS.
(I never understand the hate towards the raisin, I love them so – especially the golden ones. Ok longer raisin rant – on Nuts.com you can order RAISIN MEDLEY. THIS IS THE SUPERIOR blend of raisins, in my humble opinion. Dammit, now I want to order Raisin Medley. And Key Lime Fudge.)
Meh – it turned out okay. I properly greased the bread pans so the loaves came out without sticking. After the cooling I went to slice a piece of bread and realized it was still goo in the middle. So I sliced up the two loaves and baked in the oven a wee bit longer. Can you see the twice baked goo middles?
Meh – I suppose it tastes fine. But it got a little crispier than I wanted. Tis ok when it comes out of the microwave warm. But it’s just a tad overcooked for my liking. Not shareable with friends. Perhaps cutting it up and making bread pudding is the answer. Mmm. Bread pudding. With more nuts – and raisins.
Meh – I do not have the energy for bread pudding right now, nor do I have any more nuts – and raisins. Into the freezer you go…
Try again next week.
