This is our “main garden.” The left side has black mulch down with two sweet corns, red popcorn and baby corn. Also various squashes and pumpkins and gourds and yellow & cranberry beans. The right garden has SO MANY ONIONS, daikon radishes, green beans, fava beans, edamame, kale, red & golden beets, red clover and amaranth. And our fruit trees – 3 pear, 3 peach & 6 apple. Oh and way in the back…sunflowers which wrap around both gardens and around the field.
New garden! 20 × 8. Behind the house in the wet area. Four cranberry bushes, 1 witch hazel bush, 25 fiddlehead ferns, 5 boneset, 5 solomon seal and 5 yarrow bareroot plants.
Compost. Gone. Wild. These volunteer squash? Pumpkins? Are growing with reckless abandon. I’ve never seen a leaf so large!
Back patio container garden. More potatoes and tomatoes.
View of the front yard garden from the porch. 50 pds of taters and 5 different dried beans growing. The hanging basket off the porch has scarlet runner beans and lettuce.
Peas. (Meh, will try again in the Fall…) and greens. I’m a weird gardener when it comes to greens (and herbs) I just sprinkle the seed and hope for the best. Once its time for a first harvest of greens. I go in and weed and separate the plants. It works for me.
