I was not around the screen all day – but I knew what Senator Booker was up to — good trouble. I went to bed thinking – YES – and woke up thinking YESSSS – checked in at lunch and thought YESSSSSSSSS – realizing the historic moment around the corner.
On the drive home from the VERY LONG WORK DAY I tuned in. Tears streaming. I needed this hope, so so desperately. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for the good trouble – for calling out this moral moment, inspiring us to be better, to stand up and fight, and for giving me tears of hope for the first time since November 5.
- Booker makes a stand against Trump – and doesn’t stop for 25 hours – “Yet to the end his mind was clear and his voice was strong. This was also a masterclass in political rhetoric…” A PRIMAL SCREAM OF RESISTANCE.
- Did you stand up?’: read part of Cory Booker’s blockbuster 25-hour speech – “Did you speak up when Americans from across the country were all speaking up – more and more voices in this country speaking up – saying: “This is not right. This is un-American. This is not who we are. This is not America.” Did you speak up?”
- Letters from an American – “Booker reminded listeners that Lewis was famous for telling people to “get in good trouble, necessary trouble. Help redeem the soul of America.” Booker said that in the months since Trump took office, he has been asking himself, “[H]ow am I living up to his words?”
What he said…
I will never forget this moment…
See you all on the streets on April 5th.
UPDATE: Next morning. JUST WOW.
