Mushrooms

Found these gorgeous oysters layered on a log by the firepit. Yes please! ‘ve been reading and reading and learning and reading and until this year so hesitant still to use any we find on the land. BUT I will be dehydrating and adding these ones to our the mushroom mix in the pantry.

Also found these on another log nearby, but I just don’t trust myself. Plus, the one totally looks like poop, let’s be honest.

Mushrooms fascinate me.

It was a gorgeous day to work outside today.

HWMMS added 100 plugs of Turkey Tail mushroom spawn to the “mushroom garden.” The box where the wine caps are growing will be spread out and doubled in size too.

We had such a great success with those this year, I can’t wait to see what’s to come.

We still have reishi plugs to do also— spawn purchased from Smugtown Mushrooms in Rochester, NY.

Will be adding more edible varieties in 2021. Oysters for certain.
