Last night I felt like reading something serious. Something substantial. Something that would make me really think about my place in the world.
I picked up Elie Wiesel “Night”
And I ended up *ugly* crying several times. That awful, dreadful horrific feeling that builds and grumbles through your body and ends up in heaving tears. Impossible to recover from. Impossible. Everyone MUST read this book. Period. I do recommend reading it when you have someone to calm you down by your side. If you are as impressionable as I am.
“Never shall I forget that night, the first night in camp, which has turned my life into one long night, seven times cursed and seven times sealed. Never shall I forget that smoke. Never shall I forget the little faces of the children, whose bodies I saw turned into wreaths of smoke beneath a silent blue sky. Never shall I forget those flames which consumed my faith forever.”
My God. I have no words.
