My growing in grey hair is a mess today. I needed to wash it but I couldn’t bear the thought it was too early and cold and snowy and I was lazy. Plus it doesn’t look this grey, it’s the fluorescent lighting. Meh.

Anyhow. Today. Penguin day. I have my pink/purple penguin shift dress on with tall black knee high boots and I’m wearing the amethyst and diamond penguin necklace HWMMS bought me for my birthday — TWO WEEKS after our first date. This could/should/would have scared the hell out of me with any other person…but because it was He Who Makes Me Smile (HWMMS) I felt loved, taken care of in that old school romantic sort of way. It also was my first piece of “real” jewelry anyone I dated gifted me. AND IT IS PURPLE which was my go-to color at the time. Tis a very special necklace to me.
