The other cats in the house are bullying my sweet Sasha Kitten.
Sasha prefers being closeish to where we are, which is why he made a home under the couch. It’s safe from Giant Puppy there and we are close by at least at nighttime. But the last few days he has been out and about following me where ever I go.. And has also been VERY VERY vocal again. In that howling sort of annoyed and pained way. Not when moving like he was before he went on the pain meds, but more in a warning sort of way. Which is because the other kitties (we have 4 others…) are taking turns stalking him. And attacking him when we aren’t looking. Meaning he is not eating and drinking and able to get to the litter box all which are in close proximity to where he hangs out. Ugh.
It’s driving me mad. I’ve read that this is a normal behavior when there is a sick cat in the house, but when we first brought Sasha home with his diagnoses a few weeks ago, the kitties were EXTRA LOVEY towards him. Now, I guess weeks later they’ve had enough.
Looks like it’s tough love time. I need to separate my baby from the others and make him feel as safe and comfortable as possible. I stayed up with him all last night (until 6am) because I was feeling sad for him and he was being cuddly….made sure he ate all his food (which has his pain meds) without the other kitties bothering him. Oddly enough, three of the other cats decided to hang out in the living room with us all night as well. Two which are ALWAYS in the bedroom with us (Tubby and Mimi) and one that is ALWAYS upstairs (Dani) They know something is going on…
I just want everyone to get along.
