I never imagined Porch Coffee taking on a SAVE AMERICA vibe, but here we are in 2025.

We arrived at Niagara Square about an hour into the event. The drive from Springville brought us through a hydroplaning moment of severe rain – but as we got closer to the city the weather let up – except for the fog. At this protest there wasn’t a march – just people gathering and all the vehicles driving by honking honking honking in support. It was VERY GOOD to have friends join us – and it was very good-er to introduce a friend from work to friends from roller derby who are neighbors and should know each other. I do love connecting peeps. We all headed to Golden Cup over on Jefferson afterwards for a late brunch. GRITS seems to be the food of choice following protests. Who knew?

There weren’t as many people out – I know a lot left before we arrived because COLD RAIN WET – but it was still important to be seen. And heard. And supported.

Home from protest and found a present to myself from the Human Rights Campaign in the mailbox. For next time.

It’s inspiring to see the protest and rally numbers growing everywhere. It’s the citizens taking the risks and leading the charge against this attack on our democracy, not the media or government leaders, who are slowly beginning to take action because the PEOPLE have driven them to.
