Pumpkin Picking Time!

It’s Pumpkin season in Western New York! All around town you can find pumpkins at just about every roadside stand and grocery store, yet there’s something to be said about the pure joy that comes from picking out your very own pumpkin right from the patch. Whether you prefer a two pound, twenty pound or even two-hundred pound pumpkin for your front doorstep these farms not only provide fields filled with options to choose from but also fun fall activities for the whole family to enjoy.
Pumpkinville located at 4844 Sugartown Road, Great Valley, NY 14741 has partnered again this year with Universal Studios to make 2017 the year Curious George visits the 200-acre farm. Curious George who is celebrating his 75th anniversary is featured in the six-acre corn maze sponsored by WYRK radio. There will also be Curious George merchandise available at the Gift Shop.
In addition to the many pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, there are a few new things at Pumpkinville this year including a Goat-tel, three-story goat house and apple blasters where you can shoot apples at cool targets!
As always, you can enjoy the free activities including the pumpkin race, singing chicken show, petting zoo, story land, train play area and purchase tickets for other events such as the pumpkin jumpin pillows, corn maze, apple blasters, pedal carts, hayrides, cow train. helicopter rides and express train rides.
After picking out your pumpkin and enjoying the activities choose a delicious pastry from the bakery (pumpkin breads, cookies, muffins, pies and more!) And enjoy lunch at the Pumpkinville Grille featuring hot dogs, sausage, BBQ pork, chili and curly fries available daily, with chicken BBQ dinners on weekends. There’s no shortage of family fun to be had at Pumpkinville!

Awald Giant Pumpkin Patch located at 2195 Shirley Road, North Collins, NY 14111 has become a tradition for many people who have been coming to the farm for teeny-tiny Jack-be Little pumpkins all the way to a 550 pound Atlantic Giant pumpkin on display this year!
There’s something for everyone here including lots of pumpkins for carving, pumpkins for pie, squash, jams, jelly, honey, maple syrup, homemade crafts, mums and corn stalks. Not to mention the fun activities including a hay maze, a corn maze, hay rides, corn cannon, face painting and game tent! You can also enjoy lunch at the farm with cider/donuts and hotdogs, hamburgers and chili available for purchase.

The Great Pumpkin Farm located at 11199 Main Street, Clarence, NY 14031 has something for every member of the family! Activities include a five-acre corn maze, zombie paintball train, jumping pillows, pumpkin slingshots, boo barn, playground, petting zoo, haymaze, craft area, face painting and shooting gallery. There’s also a Halloween store on site and the Witches Brew Bar and Cafe to grab a bite to eat.
Upcoming weekend events include Pumpkin Drop and Pumpkin Olympics on October 7-8th, World Pumpkin Pie Eating Championship and Pig Races on October 14-15th, Pumpkin WNY High School Pumpkin Catapult Contests on October 21-22nd and Costume Contests on October 28-29th.
