Read & Resist – March 31. I know it’s dated. (How odd to suggest, just a few days makes something *dated* – I remember the world BEFORE BREAKING NEWS!) Anyhow, the content remains important to share.

I’ve been doing a lot of the reading in preparation for the resisting. Here are a few articles I’ve found that I am compelled to share. (Note – the very last one is terrifying.)

In Local News:

• Langworthy critical of media, protesters after enduring harassment – “This level of toxicity and hatred is beyond unacceptable.” Yes, yes it is! Oh wait, you only mean towards you. CONTACT HIS OFFICE TODAY! https://langworthy.house.gov/contact/offices
• A closer look at Rep. Langworthy’s ‘Veto Your Visas Act’ and how it could impact students – “And I believe those visas should be canceled…If you’re out there protesting against our nation, you’re burning our flag.” My representative in Congress from the “great” state of New York.

And The Rest:

• Americans are beginning to fear dissent. That’s exactly what Trump wants – This moment calls for courage and collective action rather than capitulation – resolve by universities, researchers, journalists, the legal community, and the arts to stand up to Trump.”
• John Roberts created a monster. It’s about to eat him. – “The justices themselves could pay the high price of discarding what is left of their own already impaired legitimacy.” I have a lot of grievances to air when it comes to Roberts.
• The US right is coming for disabled people. Here’s why that threatens everyone – “The Nazi gas chambers were perfected using disabled people. There, officials first created the cover story that “patients” were being sent to take a shower, where they were poisoned with carbon monoxide gas and sent to crematoriums.”
• A New Missouri Bill Would Let Residents Donate to Anti-Abortion Centers Instead of Paying Any Taxes – “Four months after Missouri voted to legalize abortion, Republican lawmakers are proposing a 100% tax credit — capped at $50,000 per year — for taxpayers who donate to crisis pregnancy centers.”
• Texas Banned Abortion. Then Sepsis Rates Soared. – “The rate of sepsis shot up more than 50% for women hospitalized when they lost their pregnancies in the second trimester.”
• Georgia Woman Arrested for How She Disposed of Miscarriage– “Police arrested the young woman after she was found unconscious and bleeding near her apartment complex, charging her with “concealing the death of another person” and “abandonment of a dead body.” Why? Because after miscarrying, they say, she bagged up the fetal remains and put them in the trash.”
• The CDC Buried a Measles Forecast That Stressed the Need for Vaccinations – “Leaders at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ordered staff this week not to release their experts’ assessment that found the risk of catching measles is high in areas near outbreaks where vaccination rates are lagging.”
• Israel killed 15 Palestinian paramedics and rescue workers one by one, says UN – “According to the United Nations, at least 1,060 healthcare workers have been killed in the 18 months since Israel launched its offensive in Gaza.”
• The Sovereign Individual: Radical Bible of Tech’s ‘Cognitive Elite’ – “Srinivasan also describes two main ways to create network states: Voice, and Exit. The Voice method entails using wealth and technology to take over existing governments. The Exit method involves leaving democratic societies and forming new sovereign countries on private land..”
