Slowly. Creeping. To. Civilization. A Rural Internet (Sort of Win!)

HWMMS just installed the new satellite internet router from Viasat which gives us almost, normal, sort of internet speeds instead of AREYOUKIDDINGMESLOWESTSPEEDEVER.

Broadband for All” (cough, cough ) promises 100 Mbps in most places and 25 Mbps in the most remote, unserved parts of the State—-hence, us despite the fact we are HARDLY THE MOST REMOTE AREA OF THE STATE.

5 minutes from Village? 5 minutes from 219? Seriously?

Seriously.

With this new fancy *expensive* service, I just hit the speed of 15 Mbps. (As opposed to 1-4 Mbps,) And we sadly consider this a win. Be thankful for that crappy Spectrum service I hear people talk about…and for those with FIOS you have no idea how lucky you are.

Don’t know what speed you have? Check out the speed test.

Last year at this time, we were celebrating the Verizon Unlimited Plan.

Baby steps.
