Trump’s new Gilded Age – What continues to surprise me – I like to remain surprised because otherwise it indicates I have already normalized things – is how neutered the Republican Party has become, and how quickly. Trump is completely emboldened now, because whatever early pushback came from the GOP Senators, has now gone mum.

Showing Up & Walking Out – Just think of the small and large acts of courage that a few—even one!—Republicans might take to slow down the Trump train. Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-Ak.) could change parties. Senator Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) could start voting against unfit nominees.

A Republican (or two or three) can still be a hero and start a tide of sanity and opposition in Congress.

They can do it for their constituents. For America. For history.

Hell, just for their own legacy.

Who will it be? Anyone?

Nah.

I’d like to add not just Republican Party – that party is long gone – tis the party of MAGA. But also the Democrats. Where the hell is the outrage? Where are the leaders who literally fell into silence after the election? On the campaign trail every day – every city – every state FIGHTING FOR US – WE ARE NOT GOING BACK!

I sure hope President Biden and Vice President Harris aren’t being disturbed by the calls from the media for them to please come forward and use their voices to lead us in this BRUTAL TAKEDOWN OF FREEDOM.

Christ, I wouldn’t want them not to be able to sleep in and have to get up by 9:00 for MSNBC

Make it make sense, please?

I live in the "great state of NY" led by…um, powerful Democrats <Governor! Senators*! *Minority Leader!> who, er…are well…I suppose they are…

Sigh.

@aoc.bsky.social is running circles around all three of them daily.

I foolishly hoped for…more.

I am thinking Cuomo during COVID daily press conferences. Something ANYTHING. The silence is deafening. And makes me so, so sad. And then SO-SO MAD.

FIGHT ALL THE FIGHTS– “Democrats can’t keep sending out fundraising text messages while believing that nothing matters and resistance is futile. It’s demoralizing. It’s self-defeating. It’s a total victory for Trump, and it will lead to the total collapse of our party.”

What the FUCK do you have to lose other than EVERYTHING? PUBLIC SERVICE – serve the public!

It’s exhausting. And feels impossible.

In other news – IDGAF about speaking my mind. I’ve been speaking my mind from Day #1 out of the womb. I found a voice online and have been blogging for (a whole lot of years – 22?) I’m one million percent sure that if they want to find something on me other than my list of disabilities and chronic illnesses to send me to “wellness camp” I already left a paper trail with links just from my younger years of being an outspoken Republican (in name only, as some of the moderates like myself were labeled.)

In my RINO days –

  • I was a guest blogger on Instapundit
  • American Public Media reached out for an interview with me (which I declined at the time, I was working for the United Way and didn’t want my personal views somehow intermingled with my professional work.
  • The Heritage Foundation followed me on Twitter.
  • I subscribed to National Review right out of college – turned out years later my DC Boyfriend of several years was good friends with a few of the editors/writers.
  • I served as a Erie County Republican Committee Member back in my law school days – and through them met Rudy Giuliani.
  • I spent many an afternoon in the D.C. studio for CNN Crossfire watching Tucker Carlson and James Carville.

I’ve never been quiet.

And I have nothing to lose -#DISSENT
