Tis the time of the year that I traditionally fall victim to the bronchitis chest cold virus for a few weeks. Last year it was later and lasted longer and I learned that asthma also contributed to my illness.
This year it started this week with a whole lot of extra breathing problems. It was much harder catching my breath. I used my inhaler much more often and brought out the nebulizer for regular doses as well.
March 3 – Shitballs on a stick. I’m having an awful time breathing today. What gives asthma? I haven’t been online all afternoon. I’m now home from work, curled up in the cozy corner of the sectional. I should do work but my entire body & soul ache. Exhausted, stuck. Heavy. Asthma has not been my friend today. World weary empaths unite.
March 4 – What a freaking day. Anxiety through the roof.
March 5 – Very. Long. Day. Started at 6:30am ended at 9:30pm. Don’t even recall hitting the pillow. Attended a meeting at Buff State in the morning and a Round Robin Grant Competition for the 21st Century Fund at the Community Foundation in the evening. Talked so much in 2 hours I had to excuse myself at one point to use my inhaler and catch my breath.
March 6 – Woke up with slight cough. Had to run errands for work and renew license at DMV. Cough started in the afternoon once I slowed down and all I wanted to do was sleep. Which I did as soon as I got home from work…Flannel Penguin Snumoo (snuggiemoomoo) shot of Nyquil and lathered in $1 Target brand Vaporub and in bed.
March 7 – Sick. 102 Fever. Cough. Could not breathe when I woke up, went right to nebulizer. NO I DO NOT HAVE CORONAVIRUS I GET THIS ILLNESS EVERY YEAR. AND YES I REALIZE THESE ARE THE EXACT SYMPTOMS OF THE CORONAVIRUS TO LOOK FOR. No, I’m not naive. I easily believe I can (and likely will) get this virus. I had the swine flu, it was two weeks of hell. Do I think I will die? Not likely. But I am asthmatic, obese and have diabetes. So there’s that. And I surely don’t want to spread ANYTHING to ANYONE else who is more vulnerable. Spent most of the day sleeping. Got up late evening and scarfed down a Caesar salad and ginger ale. Now back to sleeping.
March 8 – Same. Fever comes and goes if I treat it with ibuprofen. Same with cough if I’m using NyQuil. I still have an appetite and have been drinking a ton of fluid. The sick I had at Christmas felt far worse (then again I always hate throwing up the very most….) I believe my current status is sick with likely bout of chronic bronchitis. I called off of work for tomorrow and will be calling my doctor in the morning to see what she thinks I should do, other than what I always do which is sleep and sleep and sleep and hydrate and sleep.
