Bluesky post stating I need about 3 more hours, er, years of sleep please.

Feeling pretty lethargic today, but I still managed some patio gardening this afternoon. Trimmed and repotted the ginormous hibiscus tree and all six citronella plants and planted some cuttings. Now, time for some soup.

Yes, this is my life. On a Sunday. Once upon a time a bit of patio gardening would have been an appetizer to an entire day of garden goodness. But yesterday afternoon we had a work meeting. I community related and peopled. Which means out of routine/balance Jenny will need to do less the following day. Meh. I have been working quite a few weekend moments the last few months – it’s not the work or the hours it’s the out of routineness that my body rebels against. I need the downtime – it’s not an option. I came home from work yesterday and headed straight to

Sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep…

And now all I want is more sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.

What it feels like to try and do anything with chronic illness-related fatigue.

Fun Fact about my autoimmune disease(s) – sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep does not equate with not being tired. The fatigue isn’t something a pot of coffee can cure. I’ve learned this over the past few years but my brain still does not compute. So I imagine for those of you without maladies it REALLY makes no sense.

Being realitic about my health is not being negative thank you very much

Anyhow I was talking about SOUP.

Rotini pasta with scallops and broccoli

A few days ago I threw together a pile of roasted broccoli, garlic, onions, mushrooms and scallions on a bed of red lentil rotini pasta with some olive oil and a whole lot of fresh oregano for lunch. YUM. Anyone who knows me realizes the scallops were gone immediately – leaving the rest for later.

LATER meant one more heated up bowl – before becoming soup. I tossed all the pasta veggies in the instant pot along with a few jars of the turkey stock and SOUP!

Which is a welcome medicine for my soul because it has been damp and chilly.

I also made Key Lime Pie. I believe I squeezed the bag of Key Limes at least the week prior – leaving about 1/3 cup of “fresh” juice for pie.

homemade key lime pie

HAHAHAHA. Damn tiny limes. I needed probably two more small bags worth to get the tartness that I appreciate, but nope.

Till next time – (I wish every day was a Sunday…)
