One should always celebrate the day where motorists roll down the window to let Spring inside while simultaneously letting the song…outside. Driving under the influence of song. I am guilty. 100 times over.
But who knew it could be *good* for you too! Singing Improves Road Safety
I would think this would be a dangerous habit. I mean I heard Survivor and I had no control! (Is there anything BETTER than a rocking Survivor song while in a car? *Maybe Meatloaf!*
“I can’t hold back, I’m on the edge…but it’s too late to turn back now…”
I just couldn’t help myself. The radio gets louder…my voice more urgent, I must share with the world! Sometimes I also share my give of harmonizing. Yes, annoying. But it’s in my blood. And it’s SPRING!
“I can feel you tremble when we touch. And I feel the hand of fate. Reaching out to both of us…this love affair can’t wait”
Ah, no control indeed…just like in Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
FATHER: One day, lad, all this will be yours!
PRINCE HERBERT: What, the curtains?
FATHER: No. Not the curtains, lad. All that you can see, stretched out over the hills and valleys of this land! This’ll be your kingdom, lad.
HERBERT: But Mother–
FATHER: Father, lad. Father.
HERBERT: B– b– but Father, I don’t want any of that.
FATHER: Listen, lad. I built this kingdom up from nothing. When I started here, all there was was swamp. Other kings said I was daft to build a castle on a swamp, but I built it all the same, just to show ’em. It sank into the swamp. So, I built a second one. That sank into the swamp. So, I built a third one. That burned down, fell over, then sank into the swamp, but the fourth one… stayed up! And that’s what you’re gonna get, lad: the strongest castle in these islands.
HERBERT: But I don’t want any of that. I’d rather–
FATHER: Rather what?!
HERBERT: I’d rather… [music] …just… sing!
Ah, Prince Herbert I know the feeling. Although I hear that women with *huge tracts of land* are almost as good as singing.
