Hmmm. I posted this on Sunday – March 9th.
“Is it bedtime yet? Holy heckadoodledoo I’m fatigued.”
And then in the middle of the night I woke up to go to the bathroom and couldn’t walk, no balance. he world was SPINNING. I had to wake up HWMMS to help me walk to the loo. Because, nope. No way.
Hello BPPV great timing! It’s my work all day Strategic Planning marathon day! And the kickoff of a very long week of work.
My first visit to the UB Long Covid Clinic I spoke of feeling dizzy – lightheaded – off balanced sometimes. The doctor put me on the table, did the Epley maneuver (which I thought I was going to lose my entire insides when I was first dropped down – holy vertigo, and I wasn’t even in an active flare!) And then then 2nd time, poof! It was gone! Just like that! I have an open script to see that PT Vestibular Specialist when I get bad again…
So knowing of this newer diagnoses, I did not go to the ER. I did try some at home (in the middle of the night) Epley maneuver a few times which helped a bit but…FUCKNUTS.
My entire head is full. My tinnitus is off the charts and I wasn’t able to hear a woman speaking on the phone. Obviously, no work for me. I ended up staying home Tuesday also (which is usually my in office day.) Tuesday was a bit better – but I found myself unable to really hear a woman speaking in a zoom recording, so I turned it off. I can make it until next Monday when I go to a PT evaluation. I can. I can.
A week later – tis Monday, and Ooh boy. Vestibular Evaluation knocked me off my center* this morning. Spent most of the day sleeping. Not to my surprise, because I know me – I’m having some sort of atypical reaction which needs further evaluation. Sigh. More specialists to add to the Rolodex. ENT – maybe Audiologist?
*ha as if I’m ever centered…
