We cannot accept the lies coming from the regime as the norm. We must resist the temptation to give up – we must stand together to say: this is NOT who we are.

It’s not just a constant stream of lies to justify illegal and harmful orders -it’s also the destruction of access to factual information and research. The regime has removed nearly 8,000 pages of factual content from its website, including:

  • Over a thousand research articles on preventing chronic disease
  • STD treatment guidelines
  • Information on Alzheimer’s warning signs
  • Overdose prevention training
  • Vaccine guidelines for pregnant people

SO WHAT CAN WE DO?

  • FIND COMMON GROUND IN CONVERSATION (Yes, this is hard… but necessary!)
    • Our hearts and minds are not won through argument.
    • Disinformation is meant to undermine our sense of safety and security.
    • Most people spread disinformation accidentally or inadvertently.
  • Do NOT engage online with posts disinformation.
    • No comments, no shares, no clicks
    • —not even to refute! Clicks feed the algorithm.
  • Do engage with factual content.
    • Watch, share, and comment on credible videos, articles, and posts.
  • Some trustworthy news sites include
  • And don’t forget to double check your sources!
